Rob's pick for 5/31

Another shirt I've been holding onto simply because I like it (Sluggy Freelance was one of my favorite webcomics for years).

Again though, it dates back to my heavier years and I simply do not wear XLs any longer. I think the chances of some random shopper at Goodwill knowing about the webcomic is pretty low, but who knows, it may be a little low-key marketing opportunity for the site!

May 26th-29th

I'm taking a break from the kitchen purge, because it was getting a bit boring.  I decided to revisit my T-shirts since I discovered I can't close my drawers when all my laundry is clean.  Those who know me well know that it is really hard for me to part with my T-shirts.  Unfortunately, in order to get through this project, it will be a necessary sacrifice.

Im really sad to let this one go, I got it as a gift from my father in law right after I got my first programming gig and slightly before I lost 70lbs.

I like it, it fits my style (and I love the song) but its not really fit my bod, so it languishes in the back of my closet.

Another Lego Minifig  sold and shipped out! This guy is labeled in the official inventory as "Detective" but I think we can all agree he is a mere pipe away from being THE detective.

No, not Batman!

One Lego Minifig....wait...didn't I do this before?

Yep! I have a 5 of these totally (along with several other different minifigs) that I'm eBaying off. It may not seem like much, but the box of them has been sitting in my room for 3 years now, waiting for me to finally get around to do this.

Volume 4 of Samurai Champloo sold yesterday! I fear I actually lost money on this one, but at least it is one more thing gone!

One final volume remains!

Rob's pick for 5/26

I've often joked about my wife's extensive t-shirt collection, and to be fair it is spread over 3 drawers...

Mine is a little out of control too, I've already gone through my actual dresser where I keep t-shirts I wear, now I'm starting to go through all the secret nooks and carnies that I've hidden a bunch that I no longer wear but haven't exactly come to peace about getting rid of.

This is one of the newest, an XL I picked up from Dragon Con...10 years ago? 11? 12? Wow. It has been a while. I like the shirt (even if the Latin is a bit broken), but I no longer wear XLs and with a 9 month old, "Carpe Noctem" means making it to 10pm.

I really wanted this old router to work, but too many years outside in the parent's storage building got the best of it.

May 22nd-25th

I know these are getting a bit boring, even for me, but here's another installment from the spice rack. Fortunately, I am getting close to the end of these. These are something I have known I needed to get rid of for a while, and the biggest obstacle has been procrastination...and the erroneous belief that I would eventually find the perfect place in my kitchen for the spice rack.

Lucky break last week: Vol 3 of Samurai Champloo sold on eBay! Strangely it was the same person that bought Vol 2 last week, not sure why they didn't get both at the same time and combine shipping... whatever, still one more thing gone!

The pole/pipe, not the door. I need the door, I'm not sure what the pole/pipe was for.

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that it was here when we moved in. Maybe something to extend that long brush thing that I also didn't know what it was for or where it came from?

Anyway, gone.

May 18th-21st

This is a continuation of my kitchen decluttering.  I am still working on disassembling my spice rack and getting rid of some very, very old spices. I figure the kitchen is the room that I most actively use these days so keeping it neat, orderly and free of things I don't use is a necessity.

Rob's pick for 5/22

So a good indication of not needing something is when I pull a handful of what they are out from some forgotten nook and not know what I have in my hands.

I can take a guess that these are some type of clip, but for what propose and where they came from? Not a clue.

One old, partial socket set. I have at least two others in much better shape so I never drag this one out.

No, picture isn't that blurry, that's a thick layer of dust and grime that has accumulated over years.

I really nice screwdriver set with several attachments (slot/Phillips/trox/) that I've never taken out of the package. Bah!

Sending to Goodwill for someone to use.

A growler from parts unknown (Ohio). I rarely get up that we, regardless of this weekend's trip. And when I do, I don't remember to haul an empty with me.

Rob's pick for 5/18

One growler (or I think it is, never seen a clear one and it is technically a bit small).

Carolina Brewery is a great place and all, but I've never actually bought a growler from them (this was donated to me a year+ back).

All the pens that are dried up, pencils with no lead or erasers and computer parts I've not used in five years....gone!

Cleaned out all the partially used and duplicated crap from my travel bag.

May 13th-17th

I'm continuing on in my kitchen and actually posting a few days ahead for once since I'm going out of town.  The first item is some marinara sauce from Domino's.  I am guilty of hoarding little packets of sauce for those "just in case" moments that never seem to come.  The result is that things fall off my pantry door every time I open it.

The next four items are spices from an extremely old spice rack that I have been meaning to phase out for a very long time.  I also have a cabinet full of McCormick spices which are much newer and fresher, so I tend to use them whenever cooking.  Also, the aforementioned spice rack has floated around my kitchen and dining area for some time now, and there never seems to be a good place to put it.

Yet another DVD out the door!

Part of a partial series that I had (I had disc 1,2,3,4 and 6) that it became cheaper to get the collector's series (all 8 disc) than to buy the remaining 2 I was missing.

So far I've managed to sell a few of them on eBay, this is disc 2 now joins that list.

A few more items that I am pitching as I slowly go through my pantry.  To say that these items are no longer fresh is probably an understatement.

Rob's pick for 5/13

I got a whole handful of LEGO minifigs a few years ago and have been planning to eBay the duplicates / one I don't need for a long time.

Today I finally succeed in selling my first! This brave little soldier is on his way to Denver as I type this.

Again, as much as I hated the ending of the show, I have no idea why it took me so long to get rid of them.

Part two of the anime series that I sold on eBay this week.

Fate: eBay

Rob's post for 5/10

I picked up this anime series back in 2005 and burned through it in a weekend and loved it until the end.

The end was so flatly disappointing that I actually felt bad. Not in an "art is suppose to invoke emotion" way, but a "I feel horrible for watching this" kind of way.

There's probably some deep cultural thing at play here, I don't know. Anyway, I never planned to watch it again, so officially getting rid of it.

May 1 - 12 - Linda's post

More items sent to the DRM.

May 8th and 9th

I am starting to attack my pantry as part of this process.  It is an area that I go into every day, and it is a bit of a cluttered mess.  Below is some holiday coffee I received several years ago.  I drank a lot of it, and it was quite tasty, but I think the packets that remain are well past their freshness date.

The next item is some soup mix.  It was a bit too salty-tasting for my liking, so I probably wouldn't use the rest.

Rob's pick for 5/9

A couple of can of spray paint for a project that never worked out. It didn't work mainly because I didn't understand the difference between regular and self-priming paint...Doh!

Anyway, I do not need 2 cans slowly going bad in the garage ....GONE!

May 4th-7th

The first two items are more shirt boxes rescued from the attic.  Our exterminator specifically told us not to store cardboard up there so I am trying to stop hoarding boxes.

The third item is an old water dish that belonged to Charlie.  I'm sure I will have another cat someday, and the least I can do is get this future pet their very own water dish when the time comes.

The final item is a candle that was sitting on the back of the toilet in the upstairs bathroom.  Since this is gradually becoming Dax's bathroom, it seems unwise to leave anything breakable in there.
